American Association of Zookeepers internships (and jobs)

Similar to the AZA site in that it is a searchable database of accredited zoos, centers, and sanctuaries.

International Exotic Animal Sanctuary Intern Program

There are four to eight positions available within the International Exotic Animal Sanctuary animal care department. The Sanctuary cares for many exotic animals encompassing 13 different feline species. Located in Boyd, TX. Vehicles, housing and stipend are available. Special Reqs: At least 2 years of undergrad experience in Biology.

Partners in Amphibian and Reptile Conservation (PARC) Herpetology internships are mixed in with job opportunities. The most current jobs are listed at the top.
Peace River Refuge & Ranch Gain professional hands-on animal care experience at an wild animal sanctuary and educational facility in Zolfo Springs, FL. Interns are provided with lodging and meals and are eligible for a $500/month stipend after 4 weeks. The internship can be scheduled for up to six months, and require a minimum of 40 hours per week.
WIldlife Conservation and Rehabilitation Internships Website provided by the University of Vermont. It is a diverse list of wildlife rescues, centers, and rehabs.

The Anthropology Internship Program offers internships for undergraduate students interested in careers in anthropology, museums or related fields. The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.)

The  American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.), a fully professional resident theater company that makes its home at Harvard University's Loeb Drama Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts, offers a comprehensive internship program in management and production.

The Art Institute of Chicago Internships are offered by the Art Institute, located in Chicago, IL, in their many departments throughout the year and enable students to gain first-hand experience in their areas of interest or study. Interns, working under the guidance of curators or department heads, assist in routine departmental work that ranges from special projects and research to clerical support. Interns are undergraduate, graduate or recent college graduates. A major in art history or fine art is not essential.
The Goodman Theatre The Goodman Theatre in Chicago, IL offers internships at all levels of the stage, from Administrative (Casting, Development, E-communications, Education and Community Engagement, Literary Management and Dramaturgy, Marketing/Publicity, Product Management, and Video Production), Design (Costumes, Sound, and Technical Direction), and Stage Management. Guthrie Theater

The Guthrie Theater internship program in Minnesota provides college students and recent graduates an opportunity to engage in hands on professional training from Guthrie staff, artists and craftspeople.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art Interns work in one of the Metropolitan's departments--curatorial, education, conservation, administration, or library. Most projects require a strong knowledge of art history. Some internships are paid. Located in New York, NY.
The Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) MOMA, in New York, NY, offers internships year-round in many different areas: Curatorial Affairs, Education and Research Support, Exhibitions and Collection Support, External Affairs, Marketing and Communications, Administrative Departments, Information Technology, and Retail. Must be at least a junior, semester and year-long internships available, no housing is provided.
The National Gallery of Art Located in Washington, D.C., the museum offers paid internships (some are unpaid) for professional museum training.
National Geographic Traveler Photo Intern Traveler magazine is seeking an intern to assist with office projects related to the visual side of the magazine and photo research. Duties also include routing photography materials, learning the insides of magazine production and conducting photo research on future story assignments. American Institute of Physics A great resource for anything and everything Physics and/or Astronomy related.
American Physical Society Some internships are offered all year, and some only in the summer. Review each institution's postings for requirements and deadlines.
Carnegie Institution of Washington Summer Scholars program Undergraduate students pursuing a degree in geoscience, physics, chemistry, materials science, biology, astronomy or a related field, who are considering scientific research as a potential career, are encouraged to apply. To be eligible to participate in the program, students must have completed at least 30 semester-hour credits by the start of the summer program, and be either citizens or permanent residents of the United States. Graduating seniors are not eligible to apply. A stipend, housing and travel expense reimbursement are provided.
National Science Foundation Internships around the U.S. in the Astronomical Sciences.
National Radio Astronomy Observatory The NRAO provides state-of-the-art radio telescope facilities for use by scientists from around the world. Each NRAO summer student conducts research under an NRAO staff member at one of the three sites (Socorro, New Mexico; Green Bank, West Virginia; Charlottesville, Virginia), on a project in the supervisor's area of expertise. The project may involve any aspect of astronomy, including original research, instrumentation, telescope design, astronomical site evaluation or astronomical software development. The program runs from early June to mid-August, then participants present their research results.
New York NASA Space Grant Consortium "The New York Space Grant (NYSG) Consortium supports undergraduate research opportunities in space-related fields with various programs. Each year, undergraduates have the opportunity to participate in research during the summer and/or throughout the year in on-going projects sponsored by NASA."

Space Telescope Science Institute Each summer, the Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI) brings a dozen highly motivated college students to Baltimore, Maryland, for a Space Astronomy Summer Program. The Space Telescope Science Institute is the scientific operations center for the Hubble Space Telescope and for the future James Webb Space Telescope. The Space Astronomy Summer Program runs ten weeks, from mid-June to mid-August, and is designed for upper division undergraduates with a strong interest in space astronomy. Students will receive a stipend

Chicago History Museum   Internships at the Chicago History Museum are challenging, educational experiences designed for undergraduate and graduate students. Working alongside staff members in a tutorial arrangement, interns gain valuable skills and training in museum practice, archival administration, arts administration, and historical scholarship. Great Lakes Naval Museum Internship Program   The Great Lakes Naval Museum internship program allows for interns with numerous interests, strengths, and goals to gain practical, hands-on museum experience at the United States Navy's newest museum. There is no set length for an internship (but minimum 120 hours) and there is no stipend. Additional requirements include a writing sample of no less than 1,000 words. Located in Great Lakes, IL.
The Kansas Historical Society   The KHS has TONS of different departments that you can apply to intern with; they have a later deadline for summer sessions = April 15th! Located in Topeka, KS.
The National WWII Museum   With over 14 departments to chose from, there are many different internships available. The Museum offers a limited number of unpaid internships every semester to qualified college juniors, seniors and graduate students. Located in New Orleans, LA.

Journalism/Writing/Editing   . If you're still working on your degree, an internship may be the perfect way to experience the inner-workings of the publishing industry. Some are paid, many offer college credit, and all provide invaluable knowledge that may help you get your foot in the door when it is time to look for a full-time job.

Legal/Political/Law related

CATO Institute   Cato interns assist policy staff as researchers; work with the conference department to organize policy conferences, debates, and forums; attend seminars and conferences; and assist Cato's professional staff by copying and filing newspaper articles, distributing materials to congressional offices, and preparing mailings. In addition to their research and other duties, interns take part in regular seminars on politics, economics, law, and philosophy, as well as a series of lectures and films on libertarian themes. Cato internships are for undergraduates, regardless of major, recent graduates, graduate students, or law students who have a strong commitment to individual liberty, private property, free markets, limited government, and the philosophy of classical, or market, liberalism.
Law Enforcement Internships There are a wide variety of law enforcement internships available through local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. Many are designed for college students studying criminal justice or law enforcement.

NYC Summer Internship Program City government internships allow students to make important contributions to the City while participating in a challenging and rewarding work experience.

Prison Fellowship   Christian program management, criminal justice, hospitality, marketing, research and development, political science, information technology, and fund development. The Humane Society of the United States Many types of internships are available all over the country through the HSUS including: publications, wildlife, research and analysis, legislation, public relations, and student outreach.

City Year As a City Year corps member, you will serve full-time as a tutor and mentor in schools, running after-school programs, leading and developing youth leadership programs, and vacation camps to make a difference in the lives of children and their communities. Although most of your corps experience will be working with kids, you will also help rebuild neighborhoods and perform a variety of transformative physical service projects. At the end of your City Year service year, you will receive an education award of about $5,550 through AmeriCorps. You can apply the award toward a college degree, graduate school, or existing or future qualified student loans.
Green Corps Interns gain hands-on experience working on independent projects in a non-profit setting, while learning important organizing skills.  We are looking for people who are serious about saving the planet, have a desire to strengthen and grow the environmental movement, and have demonstrated leadership experience.

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA)
" Volunteers are everyday citizens judges appoint to advocate for the safety and well-being of children who are victims of parental abuse and neglect." Their website lets you search for a CASA program near you; there are opportunities in Madison and Scottsburg.
The Family Institute The Family Institute at Northwestern University sponsors an eight-week summer volunteer research internship program for advanced undergraduates who are interested in learning more about a career in clinical research and intervention with families.

Offers Awards and Grants. check out the site to see if you are eligible for any of them.
Women Organized Against Rape (WOAR) Internships are available to undergraduate students, who are either a Junior or Senior in Psychology. WOAR only accepts students who are completing the internship as a school requirement. An intern must complete the 40 hour Sexual Assault Counselor training that is offered three times a year in the Fall, Winter, Spring/Summer.
The responsibilities of an undergraduate intern are to:
-Answer the hotline
- Provide medical accompaniment to survivors when they receive a rape examination
-Assist with filing and data entry

Pace University Undergrad Internship The training program seeks to expose summer interns to the wide variety of functions that a psychologist can perform within a university community. The training program is noteworthy for the extensive consultation and research opportunities that it provides. The internship is a half-time (2.5 days per week), unpaid, volunteer-based training program. While housing is not provided to our interns, the University may offer housing to our interns at a reduced rate.
